ENGINEERED REFUGEE CRISIS TO JUSTIFY “SAFE HAVENS” IN SYRIA

While the WESTERN media attempts to portray the sudden influx of refugees suddenly appearing out of nowhere at EUROPE’S gates, the reality is that for years they have been gathering in expansive, well-funded refugee camps in TURKEY.

TURKEYS SUSPICIOUS OPEN DOOR REFUGEES POLICY

In fact, TURKEY has brought in over 2 million refugees with a suspiciously eager “open door” policy and has spent upward to 6 billion USD on building and maintaining these immense camps. They have done so as part of a long-standing strategy to justify creating “safe havens” in northern SYRIA – essentially NATO invading and occupying SYRIAN territory, protecting their terrorist proxies within SYRIA’s borders so that they can strike deeper toward DAMASCUS and finally topple the government of President BASHAR AL ASSAD.

US plans to carve out a “safe haven” or “buffer zone” in northern SYRIA stretch back as far as 2012 – before a real crisis even existed. In their “MIDDLE EAST Memo #21,” “Assessing Options for Regime Change,” it was stated specifically (emphasis added):

An alternative is for diplomatic efforts to focus first on how to end the violence and how to gain humanitarian access, as is being done under ANNAN’S leadership. This may lead to the creation of safe-havens and humanitarian corridors, which would have to be backed by limited military power. This would, of course, fall short of U.S. goals for SYRIA and could preserve ASSAD in power. From that starting point, however, it is possible that a broad coalition with the appropriate international mandate could add further coercive action to its efforts.

BROOKINGS would elaborate upon this criminal conspiracy in their more recent report titled, “Deconstructing SYRIA: Towards a regionalized strategy for a confederal country.” It states (emphasis added):

The idea would be to help moderate elements establish reliable safe zones within SYRIA once they were able. AMERICAN, as well as SAUDI and TURKISH and BRITISH and JORDANIAN and other ARAB forces would act in support, not only from the air but eventually on the ground via the presence of  special  forces  as  well. The  approach would  benefit  from  SYRIA’S open desert  terrain  which  could  allow  creation  of  buffer  zones  that could  be  monitored  for possible  signs  of  enemy  attack  through  a  combination  of  technologies, patrols,  and other methods that outside special forces could help SYRIAN local fighters set up.

Were ASSAD foolish enough to challenge these zones, even if he somehow forced the withdrawal  of  the  outside  special  forces,  he  would  be  likely  to  lose  his  air power  in ensuing  retaliatory  strikes  by  outside  forces,  depriving  his  military  of  one  of its  few advantages over ISIL. Thus, he would be unlikely to do this.

Unfortunately for US policymakers, little justification or public support underpins any of these plans to intervene more directly in SYRIA in pursuit of what is obviously regime change dressed up as anything but.

BRING IN THE REFUGEES TO EUROPA

However, in hopes of solving this lack of public support, the WEST appears to have taken a huge number of refugees created by its years of war upon the MIDDLE EAST and NORTH AFRICA, and suddenly releasing them in a deluge upon EUROPE. The WESTERN media itself implicates TURKEY as the source of these refugees, and reports like that from the International NEW YORK TIMES’ GREEK KATHIMERINI paper, in an article titled, “Refugee flow linked to TURKISH policy shift,” claims (emphasis added):

A sharp increase in the influx of migrants and refugees, mostly from SYRIA, into GREECE is due in part to a shift in TURKEY’S geopolitical tactics, according to diplomatic sources.

These officials link the wave of migrants into the eastern AEGEAN to political pressures in neighboring TURKEY, which is bracing for snap elections in November, and to a recent decision by ANKARA to join the US in bombing ISLAMIC STATE targets in SYRIA. The analyses of several officials indicate that the influx from neighboring TURKEY is taking place as TURKISH officials look the other way or actively promote the exodus.

REFUGEE CRISIS – A CONSPIRACY?

This wasn’t done until after years of staged terror attacks across EUROPE, in attempts to ratchet up fear, xenophobia, racism, and Islamophobia. Every attack without exception involved patsies tracked by WESTERN intelligence agencies in some cases for almost a decade. Many had traveled to and participated in NATO’s proxy war on SYRIA, IRAQ, and YEMEN before returning home to carry out predictable acts of violence.

In the case of the infamous “Charlie Hebo” massacre, FRENCH security agencies followed the gunmen for years- even arresting and imprisoning one briefly. This surveillance continued up to but not including the final six months needed for them to plan and carry out their final act of violence. When asked why FRENCH security agencies ended their surveillance of known terrorists, they cited a lack of funds.

With EUROPEANS intentionally put into a state of fear at home and in hopes of eliciting support for wars abroad NATO appears to now be undulating Europe with a tidal wave or refugees intentionally accumulated and cared for in TURKEY either to flood back into NATO-established safe zones in SYRIA or into Europe to extort from the public backing for further military aggression.

THE BIG REVEAL

The HUFFINGTON POST’S article, “DAVID CAMERON Facing Pressure To Bomb ISLAMIC STATE In SYRIA After Lord CAREY Calls To Group To Be ‘Crushed‘,” in covering the political discourse in ENGLAND provides us with the final reveal of what was really behind this sudden “crisis.”

It state (emphasis added):

DAVID CAMERON is facing growing pressure to extend RAF air strikes into SYRIA as the worsening conflict threatened to drive increasing numbers of desperate refugees to seek sanctuary in EUROPE.

Former Archbishop of CANTERBURY Lord CAREY became the latest senior figure to call for a renewed military effort to “crush” Islamic State (IS) in its SYRIAN heartlands.

He also backed calls for BRITISH military intervention to help create “safe enclaves” within the country where civilians would be protected from attack by the warring parties in SYRIA’S bloody civil war.

The HUFFINGTON POST’S report would also state (emphasis added):

His intervention came after Chancellor GEORGE OSBORNE acknowledged that a comprehensive plan was needed to tackle the refugee crisis “at source”.

Speaking to reporters at a meeting of G20 finance ministers in TURKEY, he said that meant dealing with the “evil” regime of SYRIAN president BASHAR AL-ASSAD as well as the militant jihadists of IS.

At the end of the day, the “refugee crisis” is yet another contrivance by the same special interests who first sought to intervene in SYRIA to back “freedom fighters,” then to stop the use of “WMDs,” and most recently to fight “ISIS.” Now with all three failing to justify what is otherwise naked military aggression openly pursuing regime change in SYRIA as a basis for wider confrontation with IRAN, RUSSIA, and even CHINA, “refugees” are being used as human pawns to provoke fear and rage across EUROPE.

Es ist eine Tatsache, dass Politik und Medien uns nicht wahrhaftig unterrichten. Das gilt nicht nur für das Flüchtlingsthema, aber es ist dort besonders auffällig. Denn selbstverständlich werden Flüchtlingsströme von den großen Akteuren gezielt provoziert und als geostrategische Waffe missbraucht.

FLÜCHTLINGSSTRÖME GEZIELT PROVOZIERT

In diesen Tagen behaupten viele Politiker und Journalisten, man habe die Entwicklung beim Massenzustrom von Asylbewerbern nicht vorhersehen können. Dabei wurden doch viele der Flüchtlingsströme gezielt provoziert. Und sie werden jetzt als geostrategische Waffe eingesetzt.

Nein, das ist ganz sicher keine »Verschwörungstheorie«. Schon 2011 informierte uns die FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG darüber, dass Migrationsströme eine neue »Superwaffe« seien. Auch die NEW YORK TIMES beschreibt ausführlich, wie Flüchtlingsströme als geostrategische Waffen missbraucht werden. Die VEREINTEN NATIONEN haben Sonderberichte dazu herausgegeben.

In DEUTSCHLAND haben wir das nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zum ersten Mal 1998 im KOSOVO-Krieg erfahren. Auch dort wurden Flüchtlingsströme gezielt provoziert. Wer das alles abstreitet, lebt in einer interessanten Variante der Realität. Immer mehr Menschen schließen die Augen und leben in einer illusionären Welt, die uns von Politik und Leitmedien vorgegeben wird.

EUROPÄER PSYCHISCH ZU DESTABILISIEREN – AUCH VON NUTZEN FÜR DIE USA

Sie wollen das alles nicht mehr wahrhaben. Wenn der ISLAMISCHE STAAT ganz offen damit droht, eine halbe Million »Flüchtlinge« nach EUROPA zu schicken, um die EUROPÄER »psychisch zu destabilisieren«, dann schließen wir einfach die Augen und generieren eine »Willkommenskultur«. Vor 20 Jahren durfte der SPIEGEL noch darüber berichten, wie Flüchtlingsströme als gezielte Waffen eingesetzt werden – etwa von KUBA in Richtung USA. Heute ist das Wort »Migrationswaffe« in DEUTSCHLAND ein Tabuwort.

Wir leben jetzt in der Illusion, dass es keine »Migrationswaffe« mehr gibt. Die Politik macht uns zu unmündigen Kindern, denn wir verhalten uns ja jetzt wie kleine Kinder, welche sich die Hände vor die Augen halten und glauben, dass man sie nicht mehr sieht.

WARUM EUROPA UND NICHT ARABISCHE STAATEN?

Jeder konnte das 2015 auch als Nicht-Fachmann gut erkennen: Da gab es Zehntausende SYRISCHE, IRAKISCHE und AFGHANISCHE Flüchtlinge, die binnen weniger Tage auf der GRIECHISCHEN Insel KOS ankamen. Nur wenige Kilometer Meer trennen KOS vom TÜRKISCHEN Festland.

Klar war: Die TÜRKEI wollte den verhassten Nachbarn GRIECHENLAND destabilisieren und zugleich die SYRISCHEN, IRAKISCHEN und AFGHANISCHEN Flüchtlinge loswerden.

DIE TÜRKEI WILL EUROPA MITHILFE DER ENDLOSEN FLÜCHTLINGSSTRÖME GEZIELT DESTABILISIEREN UND ISLAMISIEREN.

Das sagt uns der frühere Chef des deutschen Nachrichtenmagazins Cicero, der unverdächtig ist, Verschwörungstheorien zu verbreiten. Die TÜRKEI setzt ganz gezielt die »Migrationswaffe« ein. Ohne den Willen der TÜRKEI wäre beispielsweise die humanitäre Katastrophe auf der GRIECHISCHEN Insel KOS unmöglich gewesen. Die TÜRKEI ermunterte die Flüchtlinge dazu, nach GRIECHENLAND zu ziehen.

ATHEN hatte zu jenem Zeitpunkt schon etwa 1,5 Millionen Flüchtlinge und drohte seit Monaten ganz offen damit, diese nach DEUTSCHLAND zu schicken. Über den ATHENER Verteidigungsminister schrieb etwa der BERLINER TAGESSPIEGEL 2015: »Panos Kammenos droht DEUTSCHLAND mit illegalen Flüchtlingen«. Gemeint ist die »Migrationswaffe«.

GRIECHENLAND nutzte die Migrationswaffe also zur finanziellen Erpressung. Zur Erinnerung: ATHEN brauchte in jenen Monaten immer wieder neue Milliarden-Rettungspakete. Und DEUTSCHLAND (der Hauptfinanzier) wollte nicht schon wieder zahlen.

Die Drohung mit der Migrationswaffe wirkte. Im August 2015 bekam ATHEN weitere 86 Milliarden Euro. Mehr noch: DEUTSCHLAND versprach den GRIECHEN, künftig auch einen Teil der in ATHEN eintreffenden Asylbewerber aufzunehmen. Unsere Politiker lassen sich also gern erpressen. Nur dürfen wir Bürger das nicht mehr wahrnehmen. Wir werden mit einer »Willkommenskultur« abgelenkt.

Ein anderes Beispiel aus jenen Tagen im August 2015: Viele europäische Länder machten die Grenzen dicht, denn DEUTSCHLAND sollte die Hauptlast der Migrationsströme abfangen. DEUTSCHLAND soll schließlich Flüchtlingsheim EUROPAS werden.

DIE BRITEN MACHEN IHRE INSEL DICHT

Die BRITEN, die in den vergangenen Jahren vom IRAK über SYRIEN bis nach LIBYEN die dortigen Länder mit Krieg überzogen und den Menschen Gegenwart und Zukunft genommen hatten, machten ihre Insel dicht. Menschen ohne Recht auf Einreise waren unerwünscht. LONDON ließ hohe Zäune am Euro-Tunnel errichten. Die Flüchtlingsströme, welche die BRITEN mit ihren Kriegen in NAHOST in Gang gesetzt hatten, waren nicht das Problem der BRITEN.

Nicht anders verhielten sich übrigens die USA, welche die Kriege und Bürgerkriege von AFGHANISTAN bis LIBYEN angeheizt und initiiert hatten – die Flüchtlingsströme waren nicht ihr Problem.

Man gab vielmehr den DEUTSCHEN Ratschläge, wie diese noch mehr Flüchtlinge aus diesen Ländern aufnehmen könnten. Nicht anders die FRANZOSEN. Es waren Französische Interessen, welche Französische Fremdenlegionäre zuvor in AFRIKA »verteidigten«, bei Einsätzen in früheren Französischen Kolonien und Einflusssphären.

FRANKREICH ließ Flüchtlinge, die danach an der ITALIENISCHEN Grenze einreisen wollten, einfach nicht ins Land. FRANKREICH steckt Flüchtlinge jetzt in Internierungslager. FRANKREICH wollte keine Flüchtlinge. FRANKREICH hat keine »Willkommenskultur« für die »Migrationswaffe«. Auch ganz OSTEUROPA brüllte: »Flüchtlinge? Nicht bei uns!«. POLEN, TSCHECHIEN, BULGARIEN – alle forderten im Chor, dass DEUTSCHLAND seiner »historischen Verantwortung« gerecht werde.

EUROPA, angeblich gegründet, um Lasten zu schultern und auch in der Not Probleme zu teilen, lenkte die »Migrationswaffe« gezielt nach DEUTSCHLAND. Auch ÖSTERREICH verhängte einen »Aufnahmestopp« für Flüchtlinge, eine Abwehrmaßnahme gegen die »Migrationswaffe«. Die DÄNEN machten ebenfalls dicht.

Statt europäischer Solidarität gab es ein kollektives Wegducken. Das war abzusehen. Das war so gewollt. So wie DEUTSCHLAND bei den finanziellen Rettungspaketen für Pleitestaaten wie GRIECHENLAND immer wieder vorgeführt wurde, so war es auch bei den Flüchtlingsströmen.

Die Flüchtlinge sind nun einmal nichts anderes als eine Waffe, um DEUTSCHLAND zu ruinieren. Denn solidarisch sind die anderen EU-Staaten mit DEUTSCHLAND nur, wenn es ums Handaufhalten geht. Doch dahinter steckt noch eine weitere Wahrheit.

ANGELSÄCHSISCHE FINANZELITE  UND IHRE GEOPOLITIK

Der MEXIKANISCHE Milliardär Hugo Salinas Price sagte 2011, der LIBYSCHE Staatsführer Gaddafi sei nicht wegen Demokratie und Menschenrechten gestürzt worden, sondern weil er eine goldgedeckte AFRIKANISCHE Währung als Konkurrenz zum Petro-Dollar der USA habe einführen wollen.

Denn in einem ersten Schritt wollte Gaddafi damals libysche Ölverkäufe nicht mehr in Dollar abrechnen, sondern bis zur Einführung der neuen AFRIKANISCHEN goldgedeckten Währung nur noch in Euro. Er forderte damit die US-Zentralbank und die Spitzen der Finanzelite heraus. Den gleichen Fehler hatte auch Saddam Hussein wenige Jahre zuvor gemacht. Auch er kehrte dem Petro-Dollar den Rücken und wollte die IRAKISCHEN Ölverkäufe nur noch in Euro oder einer goldgedeckten Währung abrechnen.

GRÜNDUNG EINER NEUEN LIBYSCHEN ZENTRALBANK IN BENGASI

Ellen Brown berichtete in der international renommierten ASIA TIMES darüber, warum Saddam Hussein und Gaddafi wirklich gestürzt wurden. Und warum die Flüchtlingsströme als »Migrationswaffe« losgetreten wurden. Das Erste, was die von den USA unterstützten Rebellen in LIBYEN am 19. März 2011 (da dauerten die Kämpfe noch an) machten, war die Gründung einer neuen LIBYSCHEN Zentralbank in BENGASI, die sich ganz nach den Wünschen der USA richtete.

Bevor Gaddafi gestürzt und getötet wurde, nannte der damalige FRANZÖSISCHE Staatspräsident Sarkozy Gaddafis Pläne für eine goldgedeckte Währung noch einmal eine »direkte Bedrohung für das Finanzsystem«. Mit Gaddafis Tod waren die Pläne einer goldgedeckten Konkurrenz zum Petro-Dollar vom Tisch.

WESTLICHE GEEOPOLITISCHE STRATEGIE IN NORDAFRIKA UND NAHEN OSTEN

Durch die vorsätzliche Zerschlagung ganz NORDAFRIKAS und des NAHEN OSTENS (bei der DEUTSCHE Politiker und Medien 2010/2011 laut jubelten) entstanden instabile Staaten mit der Folge von Kriegen und Bürgerkriegen, Perspektivlosigkeit, Arbeitslosigkeit, Hunger und schließlich – das war absehbar – Fluchtbewegungen.

Alle Kritiker jener AMERIKANISCH-EUROPÄISCHEN Politik, die NORDAFRIKA und den ORIENT mit dem Sturz der dortigen Regierungen gewaltsam »demokratisieren« wollten, haben das damals ganz präzise vorausgesagt.

Heute berichten Nachrichtenportale über diese Flüchtlingsströme und deren Asylgesuche etwa mit den Worten: »Die tiefsten Anerkennungsquoten haben Personen aus … TUNESIEN (0,6 Prozent), MAROKKO (0,7 Prozent) und ALGERIEN (1,1 Prozent). Bei diesen Menschen handelt es sich meist um Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge, die als Folge des ARABISCHEN Frühlings … kommen.«

Im Frühjahr 2014 – wenige Monate vor dem Beginn der Flüchtlingswelle – warnte der damalige LIBYSCHE Interims-Innenminister Salah Mazek in TRIPOLIS die EUROPÄER: »Im Hinblick auf die illegale Einwanderung warne ich die EUROPÄISCHE UNION: Wenn sie ihrer Verantwortung nicht nachkommt, dann wird der Staat LIBYEN eine Position einnehmen, die die schnelle Durchreise dieser Flut von Menschen durch LIBYEN erleichtern könnte, weil Allah uns zum Transitpunkt für diese Flut gemacht hat.«

LIBYEN HAT SEINEN PREIS BEZAHLT, JETZT IST EUROPA DRAN

Nach dem Sturz Gaddafis wollten Männer wie Salah Mazek Schmiergelder dafür, dass man Millionen AFRIKANISCHE Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge von EUROPA fernhalten würde. Gaddafi hatte das zuvor gemacht. Salah Mazek sagte, LIBYEN »leide«, weil Tausende Flüchtlinge aus SCHWARZAFRIKA Krankheiten, Verbrechen und Drogen in LIBYEN verbreiteten. Mazek: »LIBYEN hat seinen Preis bezahlt, jetzt ist EUROPA dran, zu zahlen«. Es war die Drohung mit der Migrationswaffe.

Wie haben DEUTSCHE Medien doch damals darüber gelacht. Es freut die vielen Profiteure der Asylindustrie, wenn manche Politiker und Journalisten leugnen, dass wir gerade mit der »Migrationswaffe« bombardiert werden. Denn solange wir uns weiter befeuern lassen, machen sie im Hintergrund Bombengeschäfte, von denen die braven Steuerzahler da draußen nichts ahnen.

PROFITEURE DER ASYLINDUSTRIE - »MIGRATIONSWAFFE«

Es gibt Beweise das Deutschen Journalisten und Politiker von den Flüchtlingsströmen profitieren, und auf welche Geschäfte bekannte Konzerne beim Asyl-Tsunami hoffen und welche Folgen die Willkommenskultur für alle Konflikte der Welt künftig bei uns nach internen Papieren der Bundesregierung haben wird.

Hier noch ein kleiner aber wichtiger Zusatz, der Vollständigkeit halber: Die Harvard University hat schon 2008 einen wissenschaftlichen Fachaufsatz zum Missbrauch von Flüchtlingsströmen als »Migrationswaffe« (»Migration as a weapon of War«) veröffentlicht. An der John F. Kennedy School of Government der Harvard University wird seither ganz offen über die »Migrationswaffe« gesprochen.

In den USA gibt es unter Wissenschaftlern keinen Zweifel daran, dass Flüchtlingsströme systematisch als »Migrationswaffe« eingesetzt werden.

Peace in Syria? It’s Putin’s fault

All one needs to know about the intellectual caliber of the Obama administration is that it is still pondering whether to persist in “ignoring” Russian President Vladimir Putin, or invest in a real partnership to solve the Syrian geopolitical/humanitarian drama. After all, when in doubt between diplomacy or chaos, the Beltway weapon of choice still veers towards the simplistic group think uniting neocons and neoliberalcons: regime change.

And then there’s the non-stop The Russians Are Coming! hysteria — the Cold War 2.0 remix, now switching from the invasion/military occupation of Ukraine to the invasion/military occupation of Syria. The White House — which, same as the Pentagon, does not do irony — actually appealed to the Kremlin to behave in a “more constructive” way side-by-side with the spectacularly inefficient coalition of the dodgy opportunists which is in thesis fighting ISIS/ISIL/Daesh.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest clarified that when Obama decides that the Sisyphean task of picking up the phone and dialing K for Kremlin is actually in America’s interests, he will do it. The Shakespearean doubt may last days — even as Putin reaffirmed, via Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov, he was always open to dialogue.

The White House at least is mulling an offer from Moscow to actually discuss the Russian buildup in Syria via direct military-to-military talks. The Pentagon will do the talking, seeking the “clarity” that so eludes the Obama administration.

Ankara’s double game

Diplomacy, meanwhile, has been hectic. Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu went to Sochi to talk Syria – and Ukraine – with the Russians. Ankara’s position remains fossilized; any support for Bashar al-Assad equals more civilian casualties.

They also talked Pipelineistan – as in Turkish Stream; unlike apocalyptic US corporate media reports, the pipeline has not been ditched by Ankara; the problem is Ankara cannot even form a coherent government after the June elections.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)’s superstar commander Qasem Soleimani also went to Moscow this week to promote Damascus-Moscow cooperation. Wait; he didn’t, because Moscow flatly denied the visit. Soleimani was in Russia actually three months ago. The next important meeting to discuss Syria is actually on Monday, between Iranian deputy foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his Russian counterpart, Mikhail Bogdanov.

A quick recap is essential. The Syrian Arab Spring chapter was sponsored/financed/weaponized mostly by Ankara – totally reversing its previous “zero problems with our neighbors” geopolitical doctrine — with backing by Doha, substantial House of Saud involvement and full led-from-behind support by the Obama White House.

After over four and a half years and immeasurable tragedy, the real face of this “Assad must go” regime change operation is the refugee crisis. Over 2 million out of 4 million Syrians fled to Turkey; Ankara recently released them en masse from holding camps on their way to the Balkans and the Teutonic Promised Land.

So Ankara is right at the center of the largest refugee crisis in Europe in 70 years. And so is Ankara-supporting Washington; ISIS/ISIL/Daesh captured all the weapons delivered with CIA help to that pathetic “Free Syrian Army” – as well as tanks and Humvees from the disjointed US-trained Iraqi Army. Any possible solution for relieving the refugee crisis while fighting ISIS/ISIL/Daesh must include cutting off Ankara’s myriad direct and indirect forms of “support” for the fake “Caliphate.”

The problem is Ankara is part of the supremely inefficient US coalition. The glaring paradox at least has been identified by some adults in Washington. Yet the Obama administration is still besotted by a dominatrix Ankara playing wag the dog. Team Obama still believes “Assad must go” is responsible not only for the creation of the fake “Caliphate” — an absurdity gleefully repeated by David of Arabia Cameron and General Hollande — but he’s also responsible for the abysmal failure of the US coalition to smash it. It’s actually Ankara that rules what passes for a no-fly zone along the Turkish-Syrian border, and what Ankara wants to fight is Syrian Kurds or PKK Kurds, not al-Baghdadi’s goons.

Damn, where’s my ground intel?

Meanwhile the Pentagon machine, were they to focus on the “mission,” could shock and awe the “Caliphate” goons on a weekend binge. Yet considering how much they did not learn in Iraq, it’s unlikely the Pentagon has minimally decent ground intel.

It’s all about an over 400 kilometer-long desert strip alongside the Sykes-Picot-in-disarray Syrian-Iraqi border — between al-Baaj in northern Iraq and Rutba near the Jordanian border. Some call it the Iraqi Tora Bora; yes, it does look a bit like Afghanistan, only with more desert.

ISIS/ISIL/Daesh rules over the provinces of Ninive, Dijla, Ifrit and Al-Jazeera in Iraq, Abu Kamal and Deir ez-Zor in Syria, and most of all in Iraqi Furhat, around al-Baaj; that’s where the ISIS/ISIL/Daesh command and control center is located. If some Pentagon analyst took the trouble to contact Iraqi analyst Hisham al-Hashemi, he would tell him that al-Baghdadi himself is holed up in al-Baaj, along with his two wives. But who’s actually in command for the moment is the emir for Syria and Iraq, Abu Alaa al-Afari.

The US never managed to control these desolate lands – not to mention, previously, Saddam Hussein. Local tribes are extremely hardcore and excel in smuggling. “Caliphate” goons married tribal women and are totally integrated. All Shi’ites are derided as evil heretics, even worse than Christians. Guess who indoctrinated the tribals? Saudi Arabian imams.

Yet the coalition could easily bomb to smithereens five ISIS/ISIL/Daesh special batallions – up to 500 jihadis each, divided by nationality and specialization, and all concentrated locally; GCC and Maghreb nationals assure the protection of the commanders, for instance, while Eastern Europeans and Asians collect the loot, taxes and take care of weapons transportation. The key brigade is the one that “liberated” Mosul; 80% are Iraqis, and they are now fighting in Hassake, in Syria.

There may be up to 125,000 “Caliphate” goons in action, including up to 15,000 foreigners. But the hydra-like heads of the snake are in al-Baaj. Raze it to the ground, and we got Perseus Obama slaying the jihadi medusa.

Instead, we have the pitiful spectacle of four – I repeat, four – US-trained “moderate rebels” left to fight ISIS/ISIL/Daesh in Syria, as admitted by US General Lloyd Austin at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing this past Wednesday. Everyone remembers those “rebels” out of a hefty group of 54 who were attacked by Jabhat al-Nusra in July. That is, al-Qaeda in Syria – paraded as “moderate” by neocons and US corporate media — reduced the “moderate rebel” Obama administration chimera (15,000! Well trained and well equipped!) to … well, a chimera.

Aaaaand now, heeere’s Putin

The Obama administration – duly followed by the European minions – simply won’t listen. Already in 2014 former UN-Arab League representative for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, was saying the Russian analysis of the whole Syrian puzzle was right from the beginning.

Now, Nobel peace prize winner and former negotiator Martti Ahtisaari is saying that already in early 2012 a Russian proposal was floated that included Assad stepping out of power after peace negotiations with credible, non-jihadi opposition interlocutors.

What Moscow has done now is to step up the diplomatic game – trying to bridge the gap between Damascus and the credible opposition (not exactly a huge crowd) while cobbling up a real coalition to fight ISIS/ISIL/Daesh; as far as Moscow is concerned, this is a major national security threat, what with jihadis slouching towards “Syraq” from the Volga to the north Caucasus.

And here we find an important distinction; Russia’s national security interests do not necessarily converge with Iran’s national security interests (as in Syria offering a bridge to Hezbollah and also a Mediterranean projection for Iran.)

Still, Moscow’s is the only diplomatic game in town because Washington’s Plan A continues to be regime change, and there’s no coherent “Western” road map which simultaneously guarantees smashing ISIS/ISIL/Daesh while preventing the catastrophic dismemberment of the Syrian state.

Assad’s position, in detail, is here. Putin’s position, in detail, is here. It’s up to any informed, unbiased observer to draw the necessary conclusions. Meanwhile, the enormity of the refugee crisis is open to scrutiny practically next door to EU headquarters; no summit-addicted Eurocrat even bothered to go there and talk to the asylum seekers.

As it ramps up the diplomatic front, Moscow obviously pays attention to facts on the ground – as in the expanded infrastructure at Latakia’s air base where Russian advisers are stationed. US Think Tankland’s concerted hysteria denouncing the build up “greatly complicates” the US-led coalition campaign do not even qualify as a kindergarten prank.

There won’t be a “direct clash” between coalition F-16s and Russian jets – and the Pentagon knows it. What the Pentagon cannot possibly admit is that the Russian build up necessarily prevents funny ideas such as the coalition pulling a Turk – as in bombing Assad’s forces instead of ISIS/ISIL/Daesh. And by the way, Ankara’s clout in Washington continues to drop – as in the US not being part of a much-hyped no-fly zone to be established over northern Aleppo.

Turkey and GCC coalition members have been indirectly warned; forget about targeting Russian advisers opposing “moderate rebels” using lethal weapons supplied by Turkey, GCC and the US. “Complicating” the coalition “efforts”, in US Think Tankland newspeak, means one cannot bomb Assad’s forces with impunity. Damn, it’s tough to deliver regime change under so many constraints.

Back to pre-Bismarck?

The EU, meanwhile, pays the price for the regime change obsession, convulsed and torn apart by endless divisions provoked by the refugee crisis coupled with the specter of the eternal recurrence of jihad in the streets – and trains – linking major European capitals. But then, as the EU may desperately want a solution to the tragic Syrian puzzle, we have David of Arabia Cameron and General Hollande getting ready to deliver puny air strikes that will hardly cause “Caliphate” goons to shake in their designer desert boots.

No wonder pan-Europe public opinion is increasingly considering it’s actually the Obama administration which is perpetuating the Syrian tragedy — as long as it sticks to the mirages of regime change, a non-existent “Free Syrian Army,” “moderate rebels” (of the al-Qaeda in Syria kind), not to mention demonizing any support offered by Russia and Iran to Damascus.

Putin could not have been more crystal clear — and adults from Washington to Brussels did get the message; “Without an active participation of the Syrian authorities and the military, it would be impossible to expel the terrorists from that country and the region as a whole … Without Russia’s support for Syria, the situation in the country would have been worse than in Libya, and the flow of refugees even bigger.”

So if there’s any chance of a peace deal in Syria, it’s Putin’s fault.

But there’s another possible scenario being actively discussed for the near future. That would be the “surge’ of multiple microstates across the Middle East – as a counterpunch to internecine carnage. So we would have, among others, Allawistan, Kurdistan, Druzistan, Yazidistan, Houthistan – with borders that are already reasonably clear on the ground.

Talk about a 21st century remix of pre-Bismarck Europe princely states. The precedent is what the EU created in the Balkans; the break up of Yugoslavia across religious lines even as the bulk of the population is Slavic.

A Middle Eastern remix would only work if Turkey and Iran would agree to a Kurdistan. It won’t happen. Most Iraqis and Syrians, for their part, have also developed a strong national identity; 70% of Syrians, in a recent poll, oppose the partition of the country (while 82% view ISIS/ISIL/Daesh as a US and/or foreign made concoction.) Yet Syria arguably could still be split in three, depending on where the US-Russia power play will lead. But as we stand, the struggle for a unified, pacified, secular Syria is the only realpolitik game in town.

IRAN DISCOVERS UNEXPECTEDLY HIGH URANIUM RESERVE

IRAN has discovered an unexpectedly high reserve of uranium and will soon begin extracting the radioactive element at a new mine, the head of IRAN'S Atomic Energy Organisation said today.

The comments cast doubt on previous assessments from some Western analysts who said the country had a low supply and would sooner or later would need to import uranium, the raw material needed for its nuclear program.

Any indication IRAN could become more self-sufficient will be closely watched by world powers, which reached a landmark deal with TEHRAN in July over its program. They had feared the nuclear activities were aimed at acquiring the capability to produce atomic weapons - something denied by TEHRAN.

"I cannot announce (the level of) IRAN'S uranium mine reserves. The important thing is that before aerial prospecting for uranium ores we were not too optimistic, but the new discoveries have made us confident about our reserves," Iranian nuclear chief ALI AKBAR SALEHI was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.

SALEHI said uranium exploration had covered almost two-thirds of IRAN and would be complete in the next four years.

Uranium can be used for civilian power production and scientific purposes, but is also a key ingredient in nuclear weapons.

The July deal between IRAN and world powers will lift international sanctions on IRAN in exchange for at least a decade of curbs on the country's nuclear activity.

After decades of efforts, IRAN - which has consistently said its program is for peaceful purposes - has achieved a full nuclear fuel cycle, ranging from the extraction of uranium ore to enrichment and production of fuel rods for nuclear reactors.

Sanctions on companies taking part in IRAN'S uranium mining industry will be lifted when the agreement is implemented.

SALEHI said uranium extraction was set to begin at a new mine in the central province of YAZD, according to IRNA.

Some Western analysts have previously said that IRAN was close to exhausting its supply of yellow cake - or raw uranium - and that mining it domestically was not cost-efficient.

A report published in 2013 by US think-tanks CARNEGIE ENDOWMENT and the Federation of American Scientists said the scarcity and low quality of IRAN'S uranium resources compelled it "to rely on external sources of natural and processed uranium".

It added: "Despite the IRANIAN leadership's assertions to the contrary, IRAN'S estimated uranium endowments are nowhere near sufficient to supply its planned nuclear program."

IRAN has repeatedly denied overseas media reports that it has tried to import uranium from countries like KAZAKHSTAN and ZIMBABWE.
